Shipping, Returns & Care

Everything you might want to know before ordering — and after.

Before you order

  • Sizes are approximate — natural pieces vary by about 1mm from the listed measurement.
  • Natural material varies: texture and colour differ from photographs under different lighting and screens — the actual piece prevails.
  • Crystals and gemstones are natural stones: minor flaws — cracks, mineral pits, spots — are normal characteristics, not defects.
  • Stone is hard, but it is not armour. A sharp knock or a drop onto tile can chip or crack a bead — take the bracelet off for sport, housework and sleep.
  • Beads of similar hardness slowly abrade each other when worn stacked, and a much harder stone will scratch a softer one. Keep strands of very different hardness apart.
  • The elastic cord is a consumable. Heat, sunlight and stretching age it. Check it every 3–6 months; if it looks white, frayed or thin, re-string before a bead is lost.

Duties & Customs (DDU)

Please read this before ordering — it decides whether a parcel gets delivered or returned.

  • Prices and shipping fees do not include import duties, taxes or customs clearance charges.
  • Parcels ship DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). Any duty or tax is charged to the recipient by the carrier or customs at the time of delivery — we do not collect it and cannot pay it on your behalf.
  • The US $800 de minimis exemption is currently suspended, so even small parcels may require formal customs entry and attract duty.
  • The exact amount is assessed by your country's customs authority on the declared value and the material category. We cannot calculate it in advance.
  • If a parcel is refused or abandoned because duties were not paid, we cannot refund the item or the shipping cost — the goods are held or destroyed locally and do not come back to us.

We would rather tell you this plainly than have a parcel stuck at your border. If you are unsure what your country will charge, write to us first and we will tell you what we declare.

Restringing your bracelet

A restring takes ten minutes and a few cheap tools. Below is the home method; if you would rather not, send it back — we re-string any piece, for life, free (you cover postage).

Before you start: bead size decides the method

  • Beads over 12mm: fold the elastic twice into 4 strands before threading.
  • Beads under 10mm: fold the elastic once into 2 strands — the hole is too small for 4.
  • Can't follow? No problem — message our support and we'll teach you hands-on, until you've got it.

What you need

Elastic cord (0.5–0.8mm), a beading needle or a length of thin wire, small scissors, and a lighter to seal the knot.

Steps

  1. Lay a towel on the table so the beads don't roll away. Get your tools ready: elastic cord, a beading needle (or a length of folded thin wire), and scissors. Fold the elastic into 4 strands or 2 strands as explained above.
  2. Cut a cord of suitable length, then hook the folded end through the eye of the beading needle (or wire).
  3. Using the needle as a guide, thread the first bead — this will be the anchor bead where the knot is hidden at the end.
  4. Thread the rest of the beads one by one, following the needle.
  5. Remove the needle, then pass one end of the cord (or the 2 strands) through the loop left at the other end.
  6. Push the beads back along the cord, 2–3 at a time, until they are all snug in place.
  7. Press the beads tight with no gaps; then pull one side of the cord so the two ends meet closely.
  8. Tie three reverse knots on each side, pulling hard after every knot so it won't come loose.
  9. Trim the excess cord with scissors (careful not to cut the knot), then pull the knot into the first bead's hole to hide it. Even out and round the whole strand — done.

If a cord snaps or you just want it done right, send it back — re-stringing is free for the life of the piece.

Questions

How quickly do orders ship?

Within 72 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays — each piece is hand-screened (lower-grade beads are removed) and energetically cleansed before it is packed. Tracked airmail then reaches most of the US, UK, EU and Japan in 7–14 working days.

Can I return it?

Unworn pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Custom-sized strands are exchanged rather than refunded.

My elastic snapped. What now?

Send it back and we will re-string it free, at any point in the life of the piece. You only cover the postage.

Are the stones natural?

Natural stone, A-grade unless a listing says otherwise in writing — every piece is cut and polished from rough, and that work is ours to own. What we will not do is sell dyed glass as quartz.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes — tracked delivery worldwide, free over $199.

Why does my stone have small cracks or pits?

Because it is natural. Crystals and gemstones form under pressure over geological time; minor cracks, mineral pits, spots and colour variation are characteristics of the material, not defects. We screen out anything structural, but we do not — and cannot — erase nature itself.

Who pays the customs duty and tax?

You do. Parcels ship DDU (delivered duty unpaid), so duty and tax are collected from the recipient by the carrier at delivery. See “Duties & Customs” above — including what happens if a parcel is refused.
