Feng Shui: Questions & Knowledge

Short answers first, long ones after. Start with the question you actually have — each guide below takes one subject at a time. Underneath are the reference tables: the Bagua map, the five elements, zodiac years, star-sign months, bead sizes and how to cleanse a stone.

九 宫 方 位

The nine palaces: where each part of a life sits

This is the Later-Heaven (King Wen) arrangement used for floor plans and placements — the one that maps a direction to an area of life. Each palace carries a direction, an element, and the part of life it governs.

Two arrangements — do not mix them

Later-Heaven (King Wen) — the one above. Qian sits northwest, Kun southwest, Li due south, Kan due north, Zhen due east, Dui due west, Xun southeast, Gen northeast, Taiji at the centre. It is the arrangement used for reading a space and for relating a direction to a part of life.

Earlier-Heaven (Fu Xi) — a different map entirely: Qian due south, Kun due north, Li due east, Kan due west, Zhen northeast, Dui southeast, Xun southwest, Gen northwest. It is a tool for reasoning about qi (liqi), the najia method and Plum Blossom divination; it does not assign directions to areas of life. The two must not be substituted for each other — a reading built on the wrong map is simply wrong.

Bead size guide

Size changes how a strand reads on the wrist — not how "strong" it is. All naturally hand-made pieces carry a size tolerance of about 1.5mm.

5-7

5–7mm · Delicate

Fine strands for necklaces, anklets, 108-bead wraps and stacked sets.

7-9

7–9mm · Refined

Light and precise on the wrist — the classic quiet choice for women.

10-12

10–12mm · Unisex

Bigger for women who like presence, finer for men who prefer it — our most gifted sizes.

13-14

13–14mm · Men's regular

The standard men's size — also for collectors who like a fuller bead.

15-16

15–16mm · Men's large

For broader wrists, and for those who like a big bead.

17-20

17–20mm · Men's XL

For men who like their beads unmistakably large.

Wrist sizing: leave your wrist measurement in the order note and we will adjust the strand for you. Comfort varies from wrist to wrist — treat our guidance as a starting point, and we are happy to walk you through adjusting the strand yourself at home.

淨 化 之 法

Cleansing & care

A stone kept clean is used more often, and a stone used often is remembered.

一

Every 2–4 weeks

Leave it overnight in moonlight, or resting on a bed of clear quartz. Avoid salt water — it dulls polish and weakens elastic.

二

Wearing in daily life

Remove before swimming, showering or applying lotion. Perfume and chlorine are the two things that age a strand fastest.

三

Re-stringing

Elastic is a consumable. When it loosens, send it back — we re-string it free, for as long as you own the piece.

Feng shui is a cultural tradition, not a science. Everything here is offered as meaning and practice — never as medical, financial or guaranteed outcomes.
