How to Cleanse and Care for Your Stones

Stones are just rock, but a little routine keeps them looking good and keeps you reaching for them. Here is plain care and the "cleansing" habits people keep.

Everyday care

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Keep stones away from perfume, hairspray and long sunbaths — amethyst and citrine in particular fade. Store in a pouch, not loose in a drawer.

The "cleansing" habit

Many people like to set a stone aside now and then — under moonlight, on a windowsill, or simply resting. It is a pause, a way to notice the object again. We treat it as a personal ritual, not a physical change to the stone.

What not to do

Skip the saltwater soak for porous stones, and never put a strung bracelet in an ultrasonic cleaner — the cord suffers. When in doubt, a soft cloth and a quiet shelf are enough.

Common questions

Do stones really need cleansing?

Only in the sense that you might enjoy a reset. There is no physical effect we claim; it is a habit some people find calming.

Can I wash them with water?

A quick rinse is fine for hard stones like quartz and obsidian. Skip it for anything porous or strung, and never soak the cord.

Why does my amethyst look paler?

Sunlight fades amethyst and citrine over time. Keep them out of direct sun and they hold their colour longer.

The Stone Oracle reads your Western sign, your Chinese zodiac, your BaZi hour and a drawn tarot card, then maps the result onto stones we carry. It is free and nothing is uploaded.

Feng shui, the five elements, zodiac pairing and tarot are cultural traditions, not science. Everything on this page is offered as a way to think about a choice of stone — it is not a prediction, and it guarantees no outcome.
