How to Size a Bracelet So It Actually Fits

A bracelet that fits sits snug but not tight, and slides over the hand without a fight. Here is the quick way to measure and the rule we cut to.

Measure the bare wrist

Wrap a tape measure (or a string you then lay against a ruler) around the wrist bone. Breathe normally — don't pull it tight. Note the centimetres.

Add for the beads

For an 8 mm bead bracelet, add about 1.0–1.5 cm to your wrist measurement for a relaxed fit; add a little more if you like it loose. Our product pages list the bead size so you can adjust.

When in doubt, size up

A bracelet slightly loose is wearable; one too tight is not. If you are between sizes, take the larger and let the stretch cord do the rest.

Common questions

My wrist is 16 cm — what size?

For 8 mm beads, about 17–17.5 cm total is a relaxed fit. Check the bead size on the product page; larger beads need a touch more.

Do these stretch?

Most of our bracelets use elastic cord, so they give a little to get over the hand and settle on the wrist. They are not adjustable clasps.

Can I get a custom length?

Yes — our custom builder lets you set the size and we cut to it. See the custom page for details.

The Stone Oracle reads your Western sign, your Chinese zodiac, your BaZi hour and a drawn tarot card, then maps the result onto stones we carry. It is free and nothing is uploaded.
